How To Unlock Your Blackberry Phone Via USB To Use Any Network

locked to certain networks and
this makes it impossible to use
them on other networks or with
a different SIM card. You can
have a blackberry phone bought from Verizon Wireless in the US
but might want to save yourself
that high roaming cost on your
visit to UK but you definitely
can't use it with other carriers
like Vodafone or AT & T. Unlocking your blackberry
phones gives you the freedom to
use your phone with all network
carriers in any country, changing
your SIM cards at will without
being bond to a contract. Apart from this, unlocked phones are
much more valuable in the phone
market, you can visit Ebay just
to see exactly what I'm talking
about. The steps given in this post on
how to unlock your blackberry
phone isn't a simple process, but
it's not that hard either. I did it
with a Blackberry 8120 so why
can't you? Before you proceed, you can call your network
carrier and request for the
unlock code but I'm not so sure
they'll give you if it's a phone
bought on contract. You've got
to find a way to unlock it yourself and you need the
following tools to get this done:

1. Latest Blackberry Desktop Manager 2. Microsoft .NET Framework 3. Your Blackberry phone's operating system 4. MFI Multiloader setup 5. MFI Multiloader

right? Now lets get started!
Please note that you're doing
this at your own risk and I'm not
responsible for any damage that
might arise from this process. You might lose your warranty if
you continue...so think about it. If
the you follow the process
carefully, you should be smiling
at the end though when your
blackberry phone is unlocked. :) Now here are the first things
you must do before starting the
unlock process: A. Make sure your Blackberry's
battery is charged to at least
50% B. Make sure you do full data
back-up before doing anything.
You don't actually need this if it's
a new phone. C. Remove your SIM card, turn
off radio, turn off Bluetooth,
turn off Wifi or any
connection on BlackBerry. D. Install Blackberry Desktop
Manager E. Install Blackberry OS (be sure
the Blackberry operating system
you're installing corresponds to
the phone model!) F. Install MFL Mutiloader setup. G. Extract all the parts of MFI
Multiloader and copy toC:\MML, replacing the content of the
existing conetent in the MML
folder there. H. Go to C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Research in Motion
\Apploader and delete vendor.xml I. Disconnect your computer from
the internet. Be sure you performed each of
the 9 steps above without
omitting one, OK? Now, let's
proceed. 1. Go to the desktop and run MFI
Multiloader. 2. Make sureLogging and Database is off. 3. Now connect your Blackberry
phone through USB and hit the
start button on MFI Multiloader 4. Wait till it shows PASS 5. Your BlackBerry will should
show1 on the screen 6. Disconnect your BlackBerry
from PC and close MFI
Multiloader. 7. Type START on your phone. After finishing this operation,
your phone can show you
message like "error 507" or "no
application linked"...don't worry,
it's "normal". Your phone is
unlocked now, but you'll need to reinstall the OS and set it up. 8. Open Blackberry Desktop
Manager, connect your phone
and click on Application Loader 9. Select "Add/Remove
Applications" 10. Choose applications and
extras, and click Next 11. Wait until Blackberry Desktop
Manager finishes the whole
operation. It might take up to
twenty minutes or more. Please note that you're doing
this at your own risk and I won't
be held responsible for any
damage you cause to your
phone but if you've got a
problem with the process, I'll help if I can, only if I can. By the way,
some issues can arise after this: * Device can't connect on MFI
Multiloader.
-Copy BbDevMgr.exe from the C:
\MML\bin\, and overwrite same
one in the location C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\USB Drivers\ * MFI Multiloader shows FAIL.
- You can get this message if
your MFI Multiloader version is
older. Download newest, and just
repeat process. Also be sure you
disconnect fro the internet before doing it.

BlackBerry Master Control Program (MCP) is a power tool for BlackBerry devices designed for basic, moderate and advanced users.
You can use BlackBerry Master Control Program (MCP) to (Basic) take screenshots (including auto-capture and auto-save), set the device time, turn the radio/onoff, recover memory, gather information, view/clear event logs, display modules, gather module information, create ALX/JAD files, backup and restore third party applications, (Advanced) handheld wipe (all 3 types), factory reset, load, save and erase modules.
The Operating System Management page allows you to completely manage and optimize any OS you want to install on your device. The Javaloader CLI page offers a 1:1 GUI for javaloader.exe.
MCP allows you to keep an unlimited number of OS's installed on your PC but at the time you actually install an OS to your device MCP only lets RIM's Application Loader "see" the OS you had selected inside MCP. Most OS 101 articles tell you to uninstall all other OS's from your PC before you begin the process. This is time consuming to say the least. MCP allows you to keep multiple BlackBerry OS's installed on your computer and keep them in their current (possibly optimized) state for later use at any time.
Any controls that can potentially harm your device are blocked from use until you enter a passphrase... so even new users can't do any harm using it until they know what they are doing. MCP is 100% unrestricted.

Shortcut for Locking your Blackbery

If you are tired of accidentally mashing your BlackBerry keys and
dialing strange numbers cause your BlackBerry is floating around
in your purse or pocket, you’ll need to lock your BlackBerry
keyboard. You can do it with or without a password, but either
way, then number of accidental calls to complete strangers should
go way down.
There are multiple ways to lock the keyboard on your BlackBerry.
The first and easiest is the lock icon on your home screen.
Highlight it and start it up by pressing the trackwheel or trackball.
Your BlackBerry is now locked, meaning that pressing random
keys on the keypad is less likely to make bad things happen. To
unlock it, press * and then the green phone key. If you have set a
security password, then you will have to enter that password to
unlock the device
There are also keyboard shortcuts to accomplish the same thing.
On Suretype devices, like the 7100 or the Pearl, you can hold
down the “*” key and the device will lock. On Qwerty devices like
the 8700, hold down the Alt-key and the Enter-key.
To set your BlackBerry to lock automatically when you holster the
device, go to Options, Security, General Settings and set the Lock
Handheld Upon Holstering to “Yes”.
If you’ve set a password on your BlackBerry, you will have to
enter it to unlock the device. Be careful, if you forget your
password and guess it incorrectly too many times, your
BlackBerry will be automatically wiped!
To set the security password, go to Options, Security, General
Settings and change the Password field to “Enabled”. Now select
“Save” from the menu, and you will be prompted for your new
password

Today i will be showing you How To Reset BLACKBERRY PHONES

Differences between hard, soft, and master resets

Resetting the BlackBerry device is a useful way to resolve issues
and is usually the first step in troubleshooting the BlackBerry
device. Knowing the differences between a hard, soft, double-soft,
and master reset ensures that the correct troubleshooting method
has been chosen.

Note: Backup all applications before resetting the BlackBerry device
using the Backup and Restore tool on the BlackBerry Desktop
Manager.

Performing a SOFT reset on the BlackBerry device
Performing a soft reset stops all applications on the BlackBerry
device by pressing the ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE keys. A
soft reset re-establishes communication between the BlackBerry
device and the computer.

Note: This does not apply to the BlackBerry® Pearl™ smartphone.
Performing a DOUBLE-SOFT reset on the BlackBerry device
Performing a double-soft reset stops all applications on the
BlackBerry device and is nearly the equivalent of a hard reset.
Timing however is critical. Perform a soft reset by pressing the
ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE keys. The screen will go blank.
When the screen is no longer black, press the ALT+RIGHT SHIFT
(CAP)+DELETE keys again. You should then see another blank
screen followed by an hour glass.

Note: This does not apply to the BlackBerry® Pearl™ smartphone.
Performing a HARD reset on the BlackBerry device
The first step in troubleshooting a network, software or hardware
error is often to perform a hard reset. With Java® based devices,
this is accomplished by removing the battery, while the
BlackBerry device is powered on. Hold the battery out for about
30 seconds, and replace. The BlackBerry device will reboot.

Note: A hard reset on a C++ based device is accomplished by
pressing the Reset button.
Note: To perform a hard reset on a RIM models 850, 857, 950, or
957 device, insert the end of a paperclip inside the small hole on
the back of the handheld.
Reasons to perform a hard reset
The following shows the possible reasons for performing a hard
reset on a BlackBerry device.
Network Issues
Handheld displays an X beside the coverage indicator.
Handheld displays GSM (Global System for Mobile
Communication) or lower case gprs (General Packet Radio Service)
as the network status indicator.
User is unable to send or receive messages on the handheld.
Software Issues
User receives an error code on the handheld.

Applications do not appear to be functioning correctly.
Desktop Manager is stuck at “working” status when the handheld
is connected.
Bluetooth is not detected.
Hardware Issues
Handheld display is hard to read. For example, the display shows
lines obscuring text.
Keypad is not functioning correctly. For example, keys do not
work, the trackwheel is not functioning correctly, or the handheld
does not turn on.

Performing a MASTER reset
The master reset feature is not available on the BlackBerry device
and is only applicable to selected manufacturer devices. A master
reset removes all user-installed applications and data, including
BlackBerry Connect software. For more about master resets,
contact your service provider

How to Install Files into your BlackBerry Phone

A friend of mine who purchased a Black-Berry phone came to me and asked ..YUNG how can i Install Files To My BB

For new blackberry users, this is for you. Here is all senarios that you may encounter installing Apps/Games/Themes or any other things.

The Various File Types You Will Encounter:

-.JAD files: An application descriptor that stores information about the application itself and the location of .COD files

-.JAR files: a JAR file (or Java ARchive) is used for aggregating many files into one. It is generally used to distribute Java classes and associated metadata.

-.COD files: A COD file is a proprietary file format developed by RIM that contains compiled and packaged application code.

-.ALX files: Similar to the .JAD file, in that it holds information about where the installation files for the application are located.
For JAR files (You need a memory card)

1. Download to .JAR to your PC
2. Link your Blackberry to your PC via the USB cable
3. Open "Computer" in the Start Menu
4. Go to the folder/location on your PC where you stored the .JAR file
5. Either copy or cut the file (In case there's any oopses, best to copy)
6. In the Drive/Device list under the "Computer" screen find your Blackberry
7. Paste the file either into the root of Blackberry or a subfolder, either will suffice.
8. Unhook Blackberry from USB cable
9. In the applications on your phone (or on home screen depending on Theme) scroll to the "Media" icon
10. Click the "Media" icon to launch it
11. Press the menu button and select "Explore"
12. Locate the .JAR file either on the device memory or memory card (check both as the Blackberry seems to just sort of stick system memory and card memory together lol)
13. Click the file, and it should prompt you to download (install)
14. Click "Download" and follow instructions
For JAD files (You need a memory card)
The JAD files always come with .COD or .JAR files in the same archive (or folder) so use the same method as describe for JAR files to install the JAD files but when you transfer file to your blackberry, you have to transfer also the .COD file/files and put it/them in the same folder as .JAD

If the JAD file doesnt come with .COD or .JAR, that means its an OTA file.
you can also use the same method as installing JAR file but you need to have internet connection, cause the JAD file will request the connection to the server to download the COD files.
For ALX files (you need a desktop manager)

1. Navigate to a download link for any piece of third party software you like and download the required installation files to your desktop.
2. Once you have downloaded the desired application to your desktop, you may have to unzip/extract the contents to a new folder. Inside your newly created folder you will find a file that ends in .alx
3. Connect your BlackBerry via USB to your computer and launch the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
4. In the menu you will see an option for Application Loader . click this and you will see a screen appear that displays all the applications currently loaded on your BlackBerry.
5. Above the list of currently installed BlackBerry applications you will see a button that says Add . Click on this button to bring up the add application dialog box.
6. Navigate to the folder that you have saved on your desktop in the previous step and locate the .alx file contained within. Choose OK and this application will appear in the list with all of your other installed software.
7. If you have downloaded multiple pieces of software to install, you can go ahead and click the add button again and navigate to the next .alx file and click OK. Repeat this process for each additional third party application you wish to install.
8. Once all desired applications have been introduced into the application loader, verify that they each have a check mark next to them and click the button labeled Next which appears below the list of applications.
9 .You will see the BlackBerry Desktop Manager run through a process and your BlackBerry may restart.
10. Upon reboot of your BlackBerry you will see all of your newly installed applications on the applications screen of your device.

BlackBerry Secret Codes

• Name: Decibel meter.
• Description/purpose: Displays your signal strength in decibels,
instead of bars.
• Process: Hold "Alt" and press "N", "M", "L", "L" (repeat to reverse
the effect).

• Name: Address Book file verification.
• Description/purpose: Checks the data in your Address Book for
inconsistencies.
• Process: In the Address Book, hold "Alt" and press "V", "A", "L",
"D".

• Name: Address Book data structure rebuild.
• Description/purpose: Forces a data structure re-build in the
Address Book...
• Process: In the Address Book, hold "Alt" and press "R", "B", "L",
"D".

• Name: View source code.
• Description/purpose: Displays the source code of a Web page.
• Process: In the Browser, hold "Alt" and press "R", "B", "V", "S".

• Name: Help Me! menu.
• Description/purpose: Provides crucial technical information about
your device, for when seeking technical support or help in
forums...
• Process: Hold "Alt" and (left) "shift", then press "H".

• Name: IMEI display.
• Description/purpose: Displays your device's international mobile
equipment identity (IMEI - your serial number) on-screen... Also
works from all other GSM handsets.
• Process: Type "*", "#", "0", "6", "#" on the Home screen.

• Name: "Soft" reset.
• Description/purpose: Performs a "soft" reset of your device; the
equivalent of doing a "battery pull" (ie. Removing the battery for a
few seconds).
• Process: Press-and-hold "Alt", then press-and-hold (left) "shift",
then press-and-hold "Del".

• Name: Event Log.
• Purpose: Displays event logs of all the system-level events that
occur on your device...
• Process: Hold "Alt" and press "L", "G", "L", "G".
All of these secrets have been tested on the BlackBerry 8800 and
BlackBerry Curve 8300; I would expect them to work on all
keyboard-featured BlackBerry devices... The above secrets may or
may not work on BlackBerry Pearl series handsets.
In some cases, you will need to be on the Home screen when
you enter these codes...
